FENZ Ranking Portal
The Ranking System
A fencer's national ranking is built from their results over the last 12 months (a rolling window). Only the best 5 results in that window count toward the ranking total, so a strong showing at a handful of events matters more than simply entering everything.
How points are awarded
- Each event has a maximum points value, scaled to the size of the field: 16 or more entries earns the full maximum, 8 or fewer earns half, and fields in between scale proportionally.
- Within an event, points fall off logarithmically from 1st place down to last — so the gap between 1st and 2nd is larger than the gap between, say, 8th and 9th.
- First place earns the (scaled) maximum; the final placing earns a single point.
Use the calculator below to see exactly how points are distributed for a given maximum and field size.
